Mills Davis and Brand Niemann are restarting the Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice (by popular demand) and are working on a series of meetings/workshops in 2011 in collaboration with a numbers of groups and individuals based on three things:
1. Mapping Vivek Kundra's 25 point plan to CoPs and individuals,
2. The new OASIS Technical Committee on Transformational Government, and
3. Our very successful SICoP meeting in 2009.

Brand Niemann, Senior Enterprise Architect and Data Scientist (August 3, 1980 - November 27, 2010). I am Brand Niemann, the former Senior Enterprise Architect in the Agency (ITSPB/MISD/OTOP), having completed 30 years of EPA service on August 3, 2010.
I worked on assignment by EPA's former CIO (Kim Nelson) and CTO (Mark Day) for the Federal CIO Council during 2002-2007 on a series of assignments (Founding Chair of the Web Services Working Group, Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice, and Federal SOA Community of Practice, and as Executive Secretariat of the Best Practices Committee).
Please see http://semanticommunity.net/ where we have used two tools in the Amazon Cloud (Mindtouch and Spotfire) to extract, transform, and load a number of EPA and Federal databases to produce more transparent, open, and collaborative business analytics applications. We are also using the Concept-Map Ontology Environment (COE).
